Bruce Schneier delivers the inaugural talk for the Mindful AI Research Institute's Featured Speaker Series

Bruce Schneier is an internationally renowned security technologist, called a “security guru” by the Economist. He is the New York Times best-selling author of 14 books - including Rewiring Democracy and A Hacker’s Mind – as well as hundreds of articles, essays, and academic papers.

We were honored to welcome Bruce Schneier as the inaugural speaker in the Mindful AI Research Institute (MAIRI) Featured Speaker Series. In his talk, “Integrity in a World of AI,” Bruce examined the frequently overlooked concept of “integrity,” highlighting its central role within the CIA Triad: confidentiality, integrity, and availability; foundational security principles.

He emphasized that if we are going to build the distributed, decentralized, intelligent web of tomorrow, and trust these systems to take complex actions on our behalf, we will need to solve the problem of integrity. Indeed, we need to consider integrity as an actionable principle and we ought to be building integrous systems.
