Peter gives a lecture at the ACM Europe AI Summer School

This week, Peter gave a lecture at the ACM Europe AI Summer School.

The summer school ran from the 14th-18th of September, as was focused on Responsible AI. The event was organised by the Aston Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research and Application (ACAIRA), at Aston University in the UK.

Peter’s talk was entitled Building Trust, Accountability, and Responsible Innovation in AI.

In this talk, Peter explored how much of today’s conversation about AI reveals that we don’t yet have the right framework for thinking clearly about trust. Peter examined different ways of approaching the question of trust in AI, what these perspectives can teach us, what information we might need and what we have to make good trust decisions. And discussed how this might inform the design of systems grounded in an empowering, human-centred understanding of trust.
