Peter joins the conversation at Meta's Open Loop workshop

Last week, Peter joined over 45 participants in Ottawa for a multi-stakeholder workshop to explore the key challenges and opportunities shaping Canada’s AI innovation ecosystem, hosted by Meta’s Open Loop, a global program that connects policymakers and technology companies to help develop effective and evidence-based policies for AI and other emerging technologies.

The workshop surfaced that building trust in AI requires strong regulatory frameworks, not just communication. Participants emphasized adopting risk-benefit approaches, establishing a clear national AI strategy, and moving from high-level principles to practical tools like oversight mechanisms.
