Along with Ontario Tech University President, Steven Murphy, PhD, ICD.D, Peter spoke at the Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee on Science and Research on the topic of AI, and Canada’s approach to AI strategy and leadership.

There, Peter spoke about:

  1. How Canada should diversify its AI research efforts. AI is deeply socio-technical, research and innovation in AI must reflect this, thus requiring a more diversified approach.
  2. How AI leadership is not about speed, it is about values: respecting of dignity and inclusivity, and promoting equity, sustainability and truth.
  3. The post-LLM world, and the need to invest in the seeds of what’s to come next.
