Zahra Ahmadi has been featured in the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) recorded discussion to honour #GlobalAccessibilityAwarenessDay (GAAD) in a meeting with almost 150 participants! Akriti Pandey, of CNIB, and Zahra Ahmadi had an insightful discussion on the importance of inclusive and accessible AI technologies, existing gaps and limitations associated with AI-based assistive technologies.
Trustworthy AI Lab Director and Canada Research Chair Dr. Peter Lewis was featured as an invited panellist at a recent public event on ‘AI and the Future of Education’, with a focus on post-secondary education, hosted by the Enoch Tuner Schoolhouse Foundation.

On April 2nd, Zahra Ahmadi and Nathan Lloyd participated in a Graduate Poster and Demo Showcase hosted at Ontario Tech University, organized by the Computer Science Graduate Association, and colocated with the Faculty of Business and Information Technology’s Capstone Showcase.

Historically, creativity has been judged according to its impact and ways that people moved other people’s thinking, challenged longstanding beliefs, or transformed a field. Artificial Intelligence has raised sensationalized debates concerning not only the question over its ability to create, but whether it can harm society. Do we trust AI? Can AI systems really be creative? Do we risk human creativity as we adopt AI? Will our communities be sustainable? The goal of this event is to highlight three points of view concerning artificial intelligence and creativity.
