AI Research Summer BBQ & Networking Event
As the academic year draws to a close, it was the pleasure of the Trustworthy AI Lab to host Ontario Tech’s inaugural AI Research Summer Barbecue and Networking Event. It took place on Friday the 28th of June, welcoming faculty, postdoctoral, and student researchers working in the broad area of AI & Intelligent Machines.
Making the most of the Canadian summer we held the event outside and kicked off the event with food and drink. Following this, we had a round of lightning talks from various participants, including talks about AI accessibility, critical AI literacy, AI in applications from forensic science to space systems, as well as AI in education and healthcare, and low-resource language modeling, among others. The lightning talks highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of AI research here at Ontario Tech. After the talks, we had plenty of time to network, discuss research, meet new people, and enjoy the refreshments together.
We look forward to seeing you at future events!
