We are hiring!
We are recruiting for a postdoctoral research fellow in the area of reflective self-awareness for AI systems.
We are looking for a collaborative researcher with an interdisciplinary mindset, who will make a substantial contribution to the lab and its research.
Candidates should have a background in computer science, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, or a related field, and be interested in the social context and implications of AI technology.
The successful candidate will conduct research intersecting foundational and applied aspects of AI systems that can model and reflect on their own behaviours and capabilities, in the context of social factors such norms and human values.
There will be substantial opportunity for mentoring junior researchers, and developing collaborations with companies and other research groups. The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in these activities, as well as for advancing the lab’s profile and its broader mission to help make the relationship between AI and society work better. Our primary focus within this is to develop new knowledge and understanding concerning how to build AI systems that can reflect on, expose, and enhance their trustworthiness to people.
We aspire to be a collaborative, open-minded, inclusive, supportive, and fun environment for researchers to work and grow in, and we welcome applications from candidates who want to help us to advance this culture.
